Development in a community impacts residents and neighborhoods, as well as the industries that conceptualize and create the development. SGGM recognizes this and has begun a series of outreach programs for both the neighborhoods and the development community. This series helps educate participants on what the numbers actually mean when a developer proposes a project, but in a hypothetical situation, thereby allowing for discussion without attachment to a current project.
Smart Growth also hosts period seminars on timely topics for the development community as a whole and opportunities for members to meet with elected officials as a group to discuss concerns and ideas about current or pending proposals.
